Description

A shard of carbonate matrix, encrusted with sugary white calcite and, in turn, with pistachio-green conichalcite-duftite (composition not determined). A single terminated prism of finely striated blue-black azurite and a single spherule (2 mm) of non-pseudomorphous malachite rest on the matrix.

The specimen is from the collection of Clement Victor Latz, which was donated to the Australian Bureau of Mineral Resources (now Geoscience Australia) in 1976. There is no record of earlier provenance or of location in the mine.
