Description

Double-terminated, lustrous, translucent, blue-black azurite crystals (to 20 mm), slightly flattened and prismatic in habit. A few equant cerussite (?) crystals are present, but heavily overgrown by calcite, with some minor localised iron staining.

The specimen is from the collection purchased by Charles Palache during his April 1922 visit to Tsumeb, which dates the specimen to the upper part of the first oxidation zone (i.e. 8 Level or above).
