Description

A dense mass of intergrown, anhedral crystals of bright blue azurite with a few thin and discontinuous partings of yellowish-white dolomite (?) (exhibits 1 and 2).

The specimen was collected by OMEG geologist/mineralogist Hans Schneiderhöhn between 1914 and 1919 and is accompanied by his handwritten label (Exhibit 3) which reads: "85 m-Sohle, Ost. Konkretion von Kupferlasur in Letten, die rings um den Erzkörper sich befindet." [= 85m Level, East. Azurite concretions occur in the surrounding clayey strata encasing the ore body.]  (Ernst Schnaitmann translation, November 2025).
