Description

A small plate of lustrous azurite crystals (to 8 mm), stout prismatic in habit and quite tightly intergrown, grading into massive azurite at the base of the crystals. Colourless-white crystals of cerussite – reticulated twins – are present along one margin of the specimen. A sliver of buff-coloured matrix material, apparently feldspathic sandstone (?), adheres to the base of the specimen.

This was specimen number 54 in the collection of Wilhelm Klein, production manager at Tsumeb between 1916 and 1939. His handwritten catalogue attributes the specimen to 5 Level.
