Description

Dolostone breccia, richly mineralised with calcite, malachite, chalcocite (?) and unidentified Cu-Pb arsenates, probably including arsentsumebite (?).

The specimen was collected by OMEG geologist/mineralogist Hans Schneiderhöhn between 1914 and 1919 and is accompanied by his handwritten label (Exhibit 3) which reads: "V. Sohle, Ost, 3. Querschlag. Ausspitzung des Erzkörpers deshalb oxydiert.

Drusen mit gebändetem Malachit ausgefüllt, z. T. auch gelbgrüne Cu–Pb-Arsenate
." [= 5 Level East; third crosscut. Pinching out of the orebody, therefore oxidised. Vugs filled with banded malachite, as well as yellow-green Cu-Pb arsenates.] (Ernst Schnaitmann translation, November 2025).
