Description

A cavernous mass of malachite, comprising dendrites formed from sub-mm platy crystals of malachite and bundles of minute acicular malachite crystals. In one isolated part of the specimen (bottom right in Exhibit 1) velvety, botryoidal malachite has overgrown the dendrite.


This was specimen 215 in the collection of Wilhelm Klein, production manager at Tsumeb between 1916 and 1939. His catalogue records that it is from 11 Level in the first oxidation zone.
