Description
Velvety, sub-spherica radiall aggregates (to 6 mm) of acicular malachite fibres on a quartz matrix. The matrix is quite cavernous anf hosts etched and corroded terminated crystals of quartz (to 8 mm) in some of the cavities.
The specimen is from the collection of Clement Victor Latz which was donated to the Australian Bureau of Mineral Resources (now Geoscience Australia) in 1976. There is no record of earlier provenance or of location in the mine.
