Description
A matrix of massive malachite, probably with some cryptocrystalline Cu/Pb arsenates (undetermined), hosts a vug lined with botryoidal malachite. The surface of the botryoids is a distinctive blue-green possibly indicating alteration to rosasite (?), although this has not been verified.
This was specimen 215 in the collection of Wilhelm Klein, production manager at Tsumeb between 1916 and 1939. His catalogue records that it is from the Open Pit at the top of the first oxidation zone.
