Description
A composite, parallel-growth aggregate of flattened rhombohedral calcite crystals, approaching "angel-wing" habit. A little hematite (more clearly visible on the reverse side of the specimen) provides a reddish-pink blush to the otherwise colourless and highly translucent crystals.
The specimen is from the collection of Clement Victor Latz, which was donated to the Australian Bureau of Mineral Resources in 1976. There is no record of earlier provenance or location in the mine.
