Description
A shard of iron-stained siliceous matrix encrusted with sharp, colourless rhombs of calcite, the largest of which measures 100 mm on the diagonal. A few of the calcite crystals have a subtle orange blush due to inclusions of iron oxides and there is a trace of conichalcite-duftite (visually identified) on the matrix.
The specimen is from the Clement Victor Latz Collection which was donated to the Australian Bureau of Mineral Resources (now Geoscience Australia) in 1976.
