Description

An iron-stained dolostone matrix encrusted with sub-botryoidal conichalcite-duftite that varies in colour from pale pistachio-green to moss-green. Colourless-white calcite rhombs (to 16 mm), both isolated and as intergrown aggregates, overgrow the conichalcite-duftite. Some of the calcite crystals are iron-stained.
The specimen is from the collection of Clement Victor Latz, which was donated to the Australian Bureau of Mineral Resources (now Geoscience Australia) in 1976. There is no record of earlier provenance or of location in the mine.
