Description

A matrix of mineralised dolostone encrusted with massive, white, sub-botryoidal smithsonite and colourless, gemmy crystals of cerussite (to 20 mm). The paragenesis is completed by moss-green duftite-conichalcite which appears to post-date the cerussite.
The specimen is from the collection of Clement Victor Latz, which was donated to the Australian Bureau of Mineral Resources (now Geoscience Australia) in 1976. There is no record of earlier provenance or location in the mine.
