Description

A large parallel sided plate of pale yellow to honey-coloured translucent cerussite, with a little residual sulphide-impregnated carbonate matrix at the margins. The cerussite shows reticulated twinning throughout, but continuing crystal growth has filled essentially all of the void space normally associated with such specimens.
This specimen is from the collection of Clement Victor Latz, which was donated to the Australian Bureau of Mineral Resources (now Geoscience Australia) in 1976. There is no record of earlier provenance or of location in the mine.
