Description
Intergrown crystals (to 9 mm) of mirror-bright cuprite on a gossanous, cavernous matrix. Minor amounts of colourless-white calcite and acicular yellow mimetite are associated in the interstices between cuprite crystals.
The specimen was number 334 in the collection of Clement Victor Latz, which was donated to the Australian Bureau of Mineral Resources (now Geoscience Australia) in 1976. There is no record of earlier provenance or location in the mine.
