Description
Intergrown crystals of ruby-red cuprite (to 16 mm) associated with similarly intergrown crystals of bronze-coloured native copper (to 12 mm) and accented by crusts of scalenohedral off-white calcite. Cube {100} and dodecahedron {101} forms are prominent on both the cuprite and copper crystals.
This specimen was formerly number 4314 in the collection of Austrian industrialist Hans von Karabacek, part of which was acquired for Harvard University by Charles Palache in 1935.
