Cuprite (w. mimetite)

Composite and predominantly octahedral crystals of cuprite (to 2 mm) and radiating aggregates of club-shaped, straw-yellow mimetite crystals (to 5 mm) on a matrix that consists largely of intergrown calcite and mimetite.

This specimen was number 679 in the collection of Clement Victor Latz, which was donated to the Australian Bureau of Mineral Resources (now Geoscience Ausralia) in 1976. There is no record of earlier provenance or location in the mine.
