Description
A sheared sulphide - quartz matrix with the display face encrusted with aggregates of equant, spearmint-green zincolivenite crystals extensively overgrown by tiny colourless, acicular aragonite crystals which, superficially, appear coloured because of the underlying arsenate.
A small vug on the display face (Exhibit 2) hints at a layer of a second apple-green arsenate, probably conichalcite-duftite (?), underlying the zincolivenite.
Formerly in the Mark Feinglos Collection (#1153), Feinglos purchased this specimen from Julius and Miriam Zweibel in February 1988. Zweibel's printed label has "40 Level" pencilled on it, and this location is repeated on Feinglos' data card (Exhibit 3) along with the information that the Zweibels bought the specimen in Tsumeb in December 1987.
