Description

A cavernous boxwork of iron oxides (goethite, hermatite), extensively encrusted with tapering, needle-like crystals of pale yellow to lemon-yellow mimetite, many of which are disposed in radiating sprays.

The specimen is from the collection of Clement Victor Latz, which was donated to the Australian Bureau of Mineral Resources (now Geoscience Australia) in 1974. There is no record of earlier provenance or location in the mine.
