mimetite

Club-shaped, sub parallel growths of mimetite (to 12 mm) lining an open vug in a cavernous matrix that also consists largely of intergrown mimetite crystals. The mimetite “clubs” range from very pale yellow at the base, to a burnished orange-brown at the terminations. Sub-mm spherules of malachite are sparsely distributed on some of the mimetite terminations.

The specimen was acquired from Greifenberg International in 1996.
