Description
A thin shard of ferruginous matrix, mineralised on both sides by well crystallised willemite. The display side of the specimen (Exhibit 1) comprises a crust of mainly colorless willemite crystals, intergrown but with readily discernible individual crystals (to 1.5 mm), overlain by later individual crystals and more tightly intergrown sub-botryoidal aggregates of willemite with a grey or very pale blue colour. There is localised iron oxide staining; sparse mimetite needles (< 1 mm) and minute botryoidal aggregates of malachite are associated.
Mark Feinglos purchased the specimen from Dwight Weber in 1976. Its location in the mine is not recorded.
