Description

Dipyramidal crystals of lustrous orange and red wulfenite (to 9 mm on edge), associated with quartz and minor dolomite. Red wulfenite, particularly of this colour intensity, is rare at Tsumeb.

The specimen was acquired from Windhoek mineral dealer Sid Pieters in November 1985 and, while the location in the mine is not recorded, it is believed to originate from the second oxidation zone (Southwood 2019).
