Description

A siliceous matrix with small, mainly flat-lying, quartz crystals on the display face, richly invested with well-formed crystals of chalcocite (to 5 mm) of both tabular and prismatic habits. The slightly brownish-grey colour and sooty lustre of the chalcocite is indicative of incipient oxidation.

Mark Feinglos purchased the specimen from David New in December 1976. Its location in the mine is not recorded.
