Description

A shard of siliceous matrix, iron stained and with flat-lying crystals of quartz (to 4 mm), hosts crystals of sooty grey-brown chalcocite (to 5 mm). Chalcocite of both prismatic and twinned (pseudo-hexagonal) habit are present.

The specimen is from the collection of Mark Feinglos who acquired it from David New in December 1976. The location in the mine is not recorded.
