Description

A composite blocky (stepped) crystal of anglesite, matrix-free, with a very delicate spearmint-green colour and a sub-vitreous – almost waxy – lustre. The colour is due to the presence of thometzekite which encrusts parts of the reverse (Exhibit 2) and which may also be present as inclusions in the anglesite crystals.

The specimen is from the Feinglos collection but with no record of earlier provenance or location in the mine. The paragenesis and habit, however, are strongly indicative of the second oxidation zone.
