Description

A matrix of cavernous massive sulphide in which the vugs are lined with spearmint-green intergrown crystals of zincolivenite (?), on which rests a later generation of darker, bottle-green crystals of olivenite, some of which are free-standing (to 3 mm).

The specimen was formerly in the collection of Clement Victor Latz, which was donated to the Australian Bureau of Mineral Resources (now Geoscience Australia) in 1976. There is no record of earlier provenance or of location in the mine.
