Description

A druse of short, prismatic, terminated blackish-green olivenite crystals (EMPA confirmed; Exhibit 2), overgrown by isolated botryoidal aggregates of fibrous malachite (to 1 mm) in a vug in massive olivenite with relict sulphide mineralisation.

The specimen was purchased from Klaus Rühland in Windhoek, in 1984. There is no record of location in the mine but the paragenesis is strongly indicative of the first oxidation zone.
