Description

Dioptase crystals (to 10 mm) on a crust of coarsely crystallised white calcite over a hematite-stained carbonate matrix. The dioptase and white calcite are partly encrusted with pistachio-green conichalcite-duftite which is in turn peppered with gemmy microcrystals of second generation dioptase and colourless saccharoidal calcite (Exhibit 2).

The display label attributes the specimen to Zero Stope on 32 Level in the second oxidation zone.
