A dominant free-standing crystal of gemmy dioptase (15 mm), accompanied by several smaller crystals and accented with a little off-white calcite, some of which is iron-stained. A trace amount of conichalcite-duftite (visually identified) is also present.

The specimen was formerly in the collection of Tsumeb Corporation mineralogist John Innes and was one of a number of specimens selected for purchase by Julius Zweibel, shortly before Innes' death. It was subsequently in the collection of Stuart Strife (Texas) and acquired by its current owner from Rob Lavinsky.
