Description

A vug in massive sulphide ore hosts colourless-white crystals of quartz (to 5 mm) and anglesite (to 7 mm). Both the quartz and the anglesite are partly overgrown by tabular crystals of bronze-coloured beudantite (< 0.5 mm). A pseudo-octahedral anglesite crystal (7 mm) is prominent (Exhibit 2).

The specimen was acquired from Charlie Key but the location in the mine is not recorded. The paragenesis, however, is strongly indicative of the second oxidation zone.
