Description

Platy, pearlescent colorless-white leiteite on a sliver of sulphide ore. The leiteite contains inclusions of blue johillerite (?) and an undetermined green mineral.

Mark Feinglos acquired this specimen from Bill Pinch in 2012. According to Pinch’s label the johillerite has been verified by XRD but confirmation by quantitative analysis is desirable. The location in the mine is not recorded, but the paragenesis is strongly indicative of the third oxidation zone with a high probability that the specimen is from the Zinc Pocket on 44 Level.
