Description

A vuggy matrix of oxidised sulphide ore hosts a cascade of colourless-white to pink fleischerite fibres, associated with pearly-white microcrystals of kegelite and waxy yellow crystals of plumbojarosite.

The specimen is from the Bill Pinch Collection and originally belonged to Wolfgang Henkel, whose label (Exhibit 2) indicates that it was collected in 1981 from the North East Stope on 35 Level, in the second oxidation zone.

The 1981 discovery of fleischerite on 35 Level was documented by Keller and Bartelke (1982).
