Collection

MGMH 2022.4.1013L

Provenance

New, D.; Feinglos, M.N.

Entry Type

Specimen TSNB445

An extensively oxidised and vuggy sulphide matrix, with the vugs populated by waxy yellow crystals of tsumcorite (to 1.5 mm) and almost completely overgrown by crystals (to 13 mm) of colourless to golden-yellow adamite.  Tsumcorite is barely discernible in Exhibit 1 because of the adamite overgrowth.

The specimen is from the Mark Feinglos Collection (#1013) and his data card (Exhibit 2) records that tsumcorite was XRD-verified by Andy Roberts at the Geological Survey of Canada in 2000. Feinglos acquired the specimen from David New in 1986.

The location in the mine is not recorded, but this is almost certainly from the second oxidation zone.
