Description

Tabular pseudohexagonal crystals (to circa 1 mm) of moderately transparent, colourless to very pale green plumbotsumite, associated with sprays of needle-like crystals of colourless-white of alamosite and spotted with minute sub-spherical aggregates of blackish melanotekite (Exhibit 2). Minor leadhillite (?) is possibly intergrown with the plumbotsumite but this species has not been confirmed by analysis.

The specimen is from the Pinch Collection and, while there is no record of earlier provenance or location in the mine, the paragenesis is indicative of the second oxidation zone.
