Description
A shard of quartz, with some well-formed flat-lying prismatic crystals (to circa 2.5 mm), richly encrusted with velvety dark green malachite and apparently two generations of hidalgoite - an earlier crystallisation of orange microcrystals, succeeded by coarser mustard-yellow crystals (individually to approximately 0.3 mm).
The specimen is from the collection of Sharon and Eugene Cisneros; it was formerly in the collections of Bill Pinch and Don Schultz. The location in the mine is not recorded but the hidalgoite has been verified by XRD and by EPMA.
Compare with TSNB592 and TSNB777, which are almost certainly from the same occurrence.
