Description

A free-standing "spinel-twinned" crystal of galena, triangular in shape and measuring 20 mm across, on a crystallised galena matrix (with visually identified chalcocite (?) and tennantite subgroup (?)). The crystal has an etched appearance with fine striations typical of idiomorphic galena at Tsumeb and possibly related to stress-induced twinning (Ramdohr 1980).

The specimen is in the collection of Sharon and Eugene Cisneros and belonged formerly to Mark Feinglos.
