Description

An open vug on a matrix of massive sulphide with a little quartz hosts a rich crusts of gemmy, emerald-green zincolivenite crystals (to 8 mm), with sparsely-distributed blades of colourless-white schultenite (XRD verified).

The specimen is from the collection of Clement Victor Latz, which was donated to the Australian Bureau of Mineral Resources (now Geoscience Australia) in 1976. There is no record of earlier provenance or of location in the mine but this is almost certainly a second oxidation zone paragenesis.

XRD analysis by Paul Carr (University of Wollongong; 2019).
