Description

A shard of feldspathic sandstone is richly encrusted on one side with intergrown, translucent sky-blue crystals of caledonite associated with bright royal-blue crystals of linarite. The reverse side of the specimen (Exhibit 2) shows that the sandstone supports off-white breccia clasts of undetermined composition and a thin, localised, discontinuous coating of malachite (?).

The specimen was purchased from Dr F. Krantz (of Bonn) in February 1909, dating it unequivocally to the upper part of the first oxidation zone.
