Description
Mustard-yellow microcrystals of hidalgoite, intergrown to form a nodular crust over quartz crystals and associated with spherules of radiating malachite crystals.
The specimen was acquired from Bill Pinch in 2003 but with no record of earlier provenance or location in the mine.
The hidalgoite on a very similar specimen, also originating from the Pinch Collection (MGMH2020.7.741; TSNB592) has been verified by XRD and EMPA.
Compare with TSNB592 and TSNB994; all three specimens are almost certainly from the same occurrence.
