Description

Inclusions of turquoise-blue stranskiite in quartz, on a brecciated and partly oxidised sulphide matrix. Minute crystals of o’danielite (?) as trapezoidal sections, orange-yellow to yellow-green in colour are present on the specimen but are poorly developed and barely discernible in Exhibit 3.

The stranskiite has been verified by EDS (Harvard University, March 1990); the paragenesis is identical to MGMH 2020.4.8314L, in which stranskiite was verified by XRD (Andy Roberts, Geological Survey of Canada).

The specimen was acquired by MGMH from Julius Zweibel (Mineral Kingdom) in December 1989. The Mineral Kingdom label attributes the specimen to 44 Level; however, identical material formerly in the collection of Mark Feinglos (MGMH 2022.4.8314L) is attributed to 46 Level (TSNB668).
