Description

A nest-like aggregate of intergrown mottramite dendrites, generally olive-green but with some colour variation. Quantitative microprobe (WDS) analysis (Exhibit 2) shows some minor compositional variation but with a mean composition of a Zn-bearing mottramite. There are no other minerals associated. 

The specimen was acquired from Ian Bruce in 2015. It belonged formerly to Austrian collector Franz Lammer who acquired it in 1973 from Windhoek-based dealer/collector Cors de Bruin (Exhibit 3).
