General Notes

Hydroxylapatite is part of the type assemblage for hermannroseite (Schlüter et al. 2011), where it occurs in botryoidal crusts comprising alternating microcrystalline sequences of conichalcite, hermannroseite, hydroxylapatite, pseudomalachite and whitlockite. In this occurrence, the hydroxylapatite is coloured black by manganese oxides.
