Description
A spearmint-green crust of earthy thometzekite, associated with translucent but turbid prismatic crystals of colourless-white anglesite on a shard of massive sulphide ore. Towards the base of the specimen (as photographed in Exhibit 1) is a "book" of sub-parallel, tabular hexagonal plates of pale yellow vanackerite (Exhibit 2) and a single, sharp hexagonal crystal of vanackerite (Exhibit 3), the latter measuring approximately 3 mm in maximum dimension.
The specimen is from the collection of Sharon and Eugene Cisneros. It belonged originally to TCL mineralogist John Innes and later to collectors Don Schultz and Bill Pinch. Innes's handwritten label with a similar specimen from the same occurrence (compare TSNB532) indicates that it was collected (by Innes) in 1980 from the North East Stope on 35 Level in the second oxidation zone.
