General Notes

Pinch and Wilson (1977) provided the first report of corkite from Tsumeb, describing "… yellow to yellowish-brown pseudo-cubic crystals easily confused with beudantite" and with associations including carminite and quartz.

Keller (1984) included corkite as a rare component of his "anglesite paragenesis", forming early in the alteration sequence and at a relatively low pH.

A specimen offered for auction in August, 2021 by Joy Désor comprised a crust of corkite with mimetite and pyromorphite, on germanite-rich sulphide ore (https://e-rocks.com/item/jyj858485/corkite-pyromorphite-mimetite?sid=a17809fbb86dbcdfaca40 de3dd53dfe2; accessed February 2024). All of the named species were confirmed by EDS.

Jambor et al. (1996) noted the presence of "… unnamed Ga analogues of segnitite, corkite, kintoreite and arsenocrandallite" as associates on the type specimen of gallobeudantite.
