Description
A single, composite crystal of colourless, transparent gypsum, overgrowing a sliver of matrix which consists of a malachite-rich crust. A few radiating sprays of malachite needles are visible inside the gypsum crystal close to the matrix contact.
This was specimen number 790 in the collection of Wilhelm Klein, production manager at Tsumeb between 1916 and 1939. According to Klein’s handwritten catalogue (unpublished; MGMH Collection) all of his gypsum specimens are from between 3 Level and 8 Level, though none of the entries carry more specific information.
