Description

A cavernous intergrowth of coronadite dendrites (individually to 7 mm) with a micro-botryoidal structure. Broken surfaces reveal concentric structures of grey and black coronadite, colloform-like in texture (Exhibit 2). Minute, colourless rhombs (to 0.2 mm) of calcite (?) are present on many of the coronadite dendrites, lending a sparkle to the specimen and contributing to a variously coloured surface patina.

The specimen was formerly in the Pinch Collection (Exhibit 3); it is accompanied by a label hand written by John Innes (Exhibit 4), chief mineralogist at Tsumeb in the early 1980s, recording that he collected it from the South East Stope on 35 Level in 1981.
