rosasite

A mamillary crust comprising acicular microcrystals of blue-green rosasite on a matrix of altered and iron-stained dolostone; a little white calcite is associated.

The specimen is from the Pinch Collection but neither its earlier provenance nor its location in the mine have been recorded. Pinch's label (Exhibit 2) indicates that the specimen (presumably the rosasite) was analysed by X-ray methods at the Geological Survey of Canada.
