Description
An elongated cavity in vuggy massive sulphide lined with gemmy, terminated crystals of siderite (to circa 7 mm). The siderite ranges in colour from yellow through sherry-brown and is highly transparent; the crystals are scalenohedral in habit but with pinacoid terminations (Exhibit 2). The composition of the sulphide matrix has not been determined.
The specimen was purchased from Armin Scholer in 2013, but with no earlier provenance. The location in the mine is not recorded.
