General Notes

Bendadaite was identified by EDS, Raman and single crystal XRD on a specimen in the collection of Walter Veldsman in April 2021, with analyses performed by Joy Désor (https://www.mindat.org/locentry-1438087.html; accessed June 2021). It occurs as fibrous crystals (to 50 μm) in association with possible arthurite, ludlockite, siderite and beudantite on a tennantite matrix. The specimen originated from Hans-Josef Lauenstein (TCL mineralogist) in the late 1980s; the paragenesis suggests a probable second oxidation zone origin.

Associated Minerals

arthurite (?); beudantite; ludlockite; siderite; tennantite-(Zn)
