Description

Lemon-yellow crystals of betpakdalite-(CaMg) associated with gemmy blue scorodite and colourless-white quartz.

Formerly in the collections of TCL mineralogist John Innes, Blair Gartrell and Bill Pinch, this specimen provided the holotype material from which betpakdalite-(CaMg) was described by Kampf et al. (2012). Exhibit 2 shows Pinch's collection label documenting the specimen's significance.
