Description
Striated, lath-shaped crystals of dark, slightly bluish-green atacamite (to 12 mm) on a matrix of fractured feldspatic sandstone in which blebs of cuprite and quartz clasts are readily identifiable. The atacamite crystals appear to have developed in association with the fractures in the host rock.
The specimen is almost certainly from the first oxidation zone. Atacamite is EDS confirmed (Martin Števko, 2018; Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava, Slovakia).
